LEESBURG – Today Vice President Joe Biden announced his endorsement of Virginia Senator Jennifer Wexton in her effort to unseat Congresswoman Barbara Comstock in Virginia’s 10th District.
“I am proud to endorse State Senator Jennifer Wexton for Congress,” said former Vice President Joe Biden. “Jennifer is a mom, former prosecutor, and State Senator who has passed over 40 pieces of bipartisan legislation. She has expanded access to healthcare for Virginians and protected our communities from gun violence. Jennifer gets things done for her constituents and will be an excellent member of Congress.”
“Vice President Joe Biden’s record of fighting for American workers is a great model that I hope to emulate in Congress,” said Virginia Senator Jennifer Wexton. “From leading the search for a cure for cancer to building bridges across the aisle in search of solutions to gun violence and affordable health care, Vice President Biden has showed again and again that there is a better alternative to the divisive politics we see in Washington today. I am honored to have his support in my run for my run to represent Virginia’s 10th District in Congress.”
Vice President Biden’s endorsement of Jennifer Wexton for U.S. Representative followed a similar endorsement by President Barack Obama. The VA-10 race is one of the most closely watched Congressional contests in the country.
